Wavin-Labko Ltd has developed an oil separator series that complies with the common European EN 858 standard. These EN standards divide separators into class I coalescing separators and class II gravitation separators. When tested, class I separators should not exceed the hydrocarbon concentration of 5 mg/l. With class II separators the corresponding value is 100 mg/l. The test uses petrol with the density of 0.85 g/cm3. The hydrocarbon concentration before the oil separator is approximately 4250 mg/l.
